About the Role
We are looking for a strong strategic and customer-focused Commercial Analyst who will work closely with Portfolio Directors, Exhibition Directors and their teams to oversee market intelligence gathering, assess competitor activity and co-ordinate the progression of key commercial growth opportunities for our leading brands. You will be partnering with brand teams to priorities and progress show projects, including the implementation of virtual / hybrid offerings, based on market data, emerging trends and customer insights, while ensuring new opportunities for positive growth.

Key responsibilities:
Business partner with event teams to deliver industry research, market mapping, competitor analysis and strategic growth of existing brands
Monitoring of competitor products, markets and trends – production of summary reports and data
Support the evolution of existing brands and adoption of new business models
Work closely with CI manager to translate insights into winning strategies and execution plans, identifying sector and event-specific growth opportunities e.g. value chain extensions
Evaluate new product and technology trends to identify key markets for future product development
Facilitate the development of high quality business growth plans including sector adjacencies and geo-clones
Work with Divisional Directors to investigate new business delivery models and future revenue streams
Collate sector-specific business intelligence data through public information, industry reports and purchased sources, to inform key decisions on strategic priorities, growth plans and deployment of budget / resource
Oversee competitor activity monitoring and industry trend analysis to support decision making
Challenge assumptions and support / drive expansion and innovation in the division
Communicate regularly with competitors, customers and suppliers, attend competitive events and conduct qualitative research to keep abreast of current trends
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven business intelligence and market analysis experience including successful track record of working with teams on customer-led growth initiatives including new product development, market research and strategy
Commercial experience across a variety of sectors, working with multiple stakeholders
International mind-set with an appreciation of cultural differences to drive development of a diverse portfolio
Strong communication skills - able to guide and influence teams
Pragmatic, collaborative approach with the ability to forge strong relationships across the business easily and use data-led arguments to drive change
A clear strategic thinker who can connect strategy to superior execution
Highly organized, analytical and numerate – ability to evaluate data and build insights based on commercial strategies
Creative thinker to solutions and problems
Understanding digital media platforms and how we can use data from these platforms for insights
Storyteller - Comfortable presenting research findings to senior level stakeholders
