JOB SUMMARY          

Responsible for the preparation of detailed show budgets, financial forecasts, strategic plan projections and financial analysis for assigned shows.  Ensure the integrity of the financial data as it relates to revenues and expenses. Serve as a business/financial partner to the assigned show teams. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare detailed show budgets, financial forecasts and strategic plan projections.  These must be completed on a timely basis within strict deadlines Perform financial analysis of P&L’s for assigned shows.  Analyze show revenue and expenses versus budget/forecast and provide analysis on variances. Review general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries and support schedules as needed and discuss findings with show management Provide guidance/information on non-financial matters in support of assigned show groups, including review of key business contracts Establish guidelines for show teams in regard to preparation of support documents for budgets/forecasts by providing information needed, keeping lines of communication open and documenting due dates Review and approve purchase orders, vendor invoices, and expense reports relating to show assignments.  Ensure all documents are in accordance with company policies Review and monitor current business processes/procedures.  Recommend and establish best practices within the finance group and show teams

Assist Show Management with decisions relating to exhibit space and advertising product pricing as well as customer package creation and pricing Prepare financial models to assist Senior Management in analyzing viable business opportunities

Partner with Event Managers, Sales and Marketing, and Operations

Manage on-site Trade Show financial needs: 

  • Establish banking requirements 
  • Pack for finance show office
  • Prepare and reconcile financial documents on-site
  • Provide financial support as needed
  • Record and reconcile pre-show and on-site cash receipt entries for attendance and conference revenue
  • Verify totals to reports provided by Registration Company

Monitor accounts receivable and assist collections/sales with determining collectability

Monitor sales and marketing results against established milestones and expense commitments on new show launches as needed

May perform other related responsibilities as assigned

         

                                                                                           

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting

  • CPA a plus

Minimum two  years’ experience, preferably with Big 4 or national accounting firm

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Oracle/Hyperion/Smartview experience a plus

Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team.

Strong analytical and project management skills

Ability to organize workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently

Strong written communication skills

Proactive problem solver

Excellent human relation skills are needed to maintain working relationships with many levels in the company along with strong cross-functional communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Travel approximately 10%
