The Position

The RX UK Data Team is expanding! We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Are you juggling data on a regular basis? We would like to speak to you. You will work closely with our data executives, data engineers, analysts and business teams to solve day to day problems. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to move on their initial experience to establish themselves within a transforming industry and learn in-demand core skills.

You will help build data products that will improve some of the industry leading exhibition events owned by Reed Exhibitions UK

Among others, you will help us with the following:

  • Development, and maintenance of our AWS Data Lake;
  • Creating, monitoring, and troubleshooting ETL jobs to ingest and transform data from various 3rd Party systems
  • Collaborating with analytics and business teams to improve data feed.

You will work closely with global development teams to provide high-quality business solutions and play an active role in projects from inception to delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3years of work experience in data processing, including 1+ year experience solely in AWS technologies

• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:

•  Has work experience with enterprise data movement/ETL using Python/Pyspark, SQL Server Integration Services, or similar
• Has working experience on RDBMS systems like SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, etc.
• Has strong SQL skills
• Has experience with AWS tech stack and has good knowledge about Lambda or Glue
• Has experience or knowledge in Business Intelligence reporting such as Power BI, Tableau(optional), etc.
• Has knowledge with API data processing
• Has knowledge of C# or .NET
• Is familiar with JSON and/or XML data formats
• Understanding of Campaign Data building, reporting and profiling (full training will be provided on this)

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Git or other automated build and deployment pipelines
  • Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
  • Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server, SSIS and .Net/C#
  • Salesforce
  • OBIEE
