As our Marketing Director, you will lead and manage a passionate games events marketing team that is responsible for the full marketing spectrum (from audience acquisition to retention, to PR, digital strategy and social content) for some of the world’s biggest games and gaming culture brands. This role will have a particular focus on E3, as well as across our portfolio of PAX and EGX events.
You will be a proven senior marketing leader who will relish evolving the brand vision, strategy and delivery of integrated, multichannel, results-driven marketing campaigns, as well as imagining, creating and executing brand storytelling to inspire our audiences, exhibitors and partners.
Within our broader ReedPop organization, this role will act as a thought-leader for our games event brands and you will work closely with each event team and our commercial teams to deliver growth and a compelling attendee and exhibitor experience.
Drive the vision, strategy and execution for marketing across our entire games events portfolio, with a particular focus in the immediate term on E3.
Design and execute our marketing communications strategy, including all aspect of digital, social, audience and database marketing.
Take ownership of, and deliver on, the ticket sales growth targets for all of our events.
Partner with our sales teams to align on strategy, assets, KPI’s, and resources.
Define, manage and own our games events marketing budget.
Support our merchandise offering to ensure it resonates with attendees.
Partner with key agencies, brands and exhibitors to amplify their presence at our events.
Seek out and deliver mutually beneficial agreements with relevant media partners.
Oversee, digest and distribute post-show feedback so we always find ways to improve.
Required Skills and Experience:
A proven, senior track record of building brands, and devising, managing and executing successful campaigns, potentially in a pop culture space, but certainly with an event focus.
Experience in conceiving, presenting, and delivering ROI-driven marketing campaigns.
Strong strategic and creative skills, with the ability to measure and analyze all activity against agreed budgets, KPI’s and targets.
Proven ability to work across a diverse set of teams, including events, sales, operations, merch and content, and with external partners, to define and deliver marketing strategy.
Demonstrable experience of hands-on marketing for events brands, and be able to point to a relevant portfolio of previous work.
Experience with profiling, segmenting and targeting audiences and commercial partners.
An effective people manager who develops, grows and gets the most from teams.
A deep understanding of digital marketing trends and a passion for innovation.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Contacts in the games or pop culture industry are an advantage, but not essential.
Knowledge of working in a directly relevant pop culture industry.
An interest in, or personal passion for, pop culture, technology or media in general.
