About the team and role:

This is a unique opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager to manage and build relationships with a portfolio of curated, boutique, creative brands across interiors, fashion and lifestyle as part of Life Instyle,  Reed Exhibitions (RX) premium retail events. This role works within a team of 7 and reports into the Group Sales Manager. This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney with the option of combined home/office-based arrangements for a flexible work-life balance.

The prime purpose of this role is to manage your portfolio of customers and new prospects and to deliver against your individual revenue targets across Life Instyle’s two B2B events each year.  This will be achieved by actively engaging with your customer base to identify strategic priorities and to design and propose solutions across our physical, digital and sponsorship opportunities.  This will in turn help your clients achieve their objectives and allow you to deliver a value-led sales approach to increasing growth and retention within your portfolio.

Whilst individual responsibility and autonomy is important to achieve your targets, it is vital that you are a team player contributing to the success and culture of the sales team.

Life Instyle is trade show experience that defies tradition through next-level creativity, curation and collaboration. We bring together a like-minded community of creatives to connect, discover and source from some of the world’s best curated collections of well designed, well intentioned products.

Each year, we provide a platform for hundreds of leading and emerging brands to connect with a captive audience of over 8,000 retail professionals looking to discover new products, trends and innovations through a multi-channel experience layering the best of physical and digital opportunities anytime, anywhere.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • To develop strong relationships with exhibitors by understanding and responding to their needs.

  • Create, implement, and monitor Account Development Plans for each Tier 1 client, ensuring a deep understanding of their business needs, budgets, stakeholders/decision makers, goals/objectives, buying cycles etc.

  • With the support of the Group Sales Manager and Exhibition Director, the role provides the opportunity to help develop the sales strategy, campaign execution and general sales management for the Life Instyle portfolio.

  • To meet and/or exceed annual key objectives as prescribed by the Company Strategy.

  • Ensure sales plans/strategies/milestones within your account portfolio are established and achieved (with assistance from the Group Sales Manager).

  • Strengthen relationships with Rebooker Accounts and establish relationships with Strategic Account decision makers through regular contact, conducting face to face visits/presentations and deep/rich phone conversations.

  • Have a ‘win back’ approach to reactivate Lapsed accounts through sales best practice to identify objectives, expectations, competitor attendance and the value proposition of the show.

  • Identify and convert new customer opportunities through referrals, competitive events, and alternative marketing platforms.

  • Maintain and grow existing clients through optimised quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 3 - 5 years+ experience in a B2B sales environment with thorough understanding of sales strategies and sales processes with consultative style of approach.

  • Prior industry experience either within Retail, Design or Beauty will be highly advantageous.

  • Well-developed communication and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to apply your strong business acumen and sales tenacity to influence your clients to convert sales and overcome objections.

  • Ability to identify, negotiate and develop strategic partnerships, and manage 'conflict resolution' situations.

  • Ability to meet multiple sales and work deadlines.
